Yanina Aleksandrovna Rier, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Romance-Germanic Philology took part in the ninth International Scientific Conference “Colloquia Russica”, which was held from 5 to 8 December in the city of Przemysl (Poland). The scientific forum brought together researchers from nine European countries (Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Serbia and Slovenia). The event was organized by Vitaly Nagirny with the support of the Institute of History of the Krakow Jagiellonian University. The theme of the conference was devoted to the history of Russia and Poland in the X–XIV centuries. As part of the scientific forum, open lectures, a round table, discussions, presentations by participants and the presentation of the latest scientific publications on the history of Russia were held. The event has become a model of high level of organization and scientific effectiveness. The conference gave open lectures by prominent medievalists, specialists in the history of Russia, Hieronymus Graley (University of Warsaw), Igor Danilevsky (HSE, Moscow), Alexander Musina (Institute of History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg), Igor Skochilyas (Ukrainian Catholic University, Lviv). During the sections the Minsk colleagues Stepan Temushev (BSU, Minsk) and Alexey Martynyuk (RIVSh, Minsk) also presented their presentations. Discussions were held on the most complex issues of medieval history of Russia, its relations with Poland, an analysis of chronicles, iconographic, and archaeological sources was carried out, and a range of actual problems in modern historiography was outlined. In a friendly working atmosphere, young scientists had the opportunity to discuss their ideas with senior colleagues. Invaluable was the exchange of views of representatives of various national schools and directions. The conference ended with a presentation of new publications that saw the light in 2018, as well as a discussion of promising projects.
