On September 17–19, Svetlana Likhacheva, Head of the Department of Political Science and Sociology of the Mogilev State A.Kuleshov University, took part in the international scientific conference “The Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation: the Problem of Understanding by the Population”. The scientific forum was organized by the Faculty of Physics and the Faculty of Sociology of Yerevan State University.
Researchers from Armenia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Georgia, Japan, EU countries made scientific reports. Belarusian sociologists have extensive experience in studying the social consequences of exposure to hazardous radiation after the Chernobyl catastrophe, as well as the characteristics of a person's social behavior in a risk situation. Dean of the Faculty of Sociology of Yerevan State University Artur Mkrtchyan noted that today the greatest danger is the lack of awareness of people about the impact of electromagnetic radiation from mobile phones and household appliances on human health.
The conference was held with the support of the International Science and Technology Center located in Astana. His representative Kalamkas Shampieva invited Belarusian scientists to participate in the application campaign to finance their scientific projects in the field of natural sciences, engineering, and ecology.
