Specialist for academic exchanges of the department of European and Eurasian programs of the Office of Academic Exchange Programs of the US State Department, Scott Regetzi, has visited the Mogilev State A. Kuleshov University. Mr. Scott Reggetzi discussed with academic administration representatives the issues of academic cooperation within the framework of the Fulbright program. In addition, the foreign guest met with students and teachers of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and told them about the system of higher education in the United States.
According to the head of the International Relations Department Sergei Machekin, the American side is interested in expanding academic cooperation. Moreover, for this there are opportunities and a desire of both sides. “Yes, this year a lecturer worked on the program of Senator Fulbright at the faculty of pedagogy and psychology of childhood, — Sergei says. — He lectured for students and teachers. Now the faculty of foreign languages employs a teacher who came to our country under the same program. She is a native speaker of living English and communication with her is of great importance for students”. In the long term, Sergei Machekin says, there is the expansion of the number of American teachers who will work at the university. “This concerns not only the faculty of foreign languages! Theoretically, Americans can work at all faculties”, — the source said.
