The Chinese Language Days were held at the Confucius Institute

The International Chinese Language Day is celebrated annually on April 20.

This holiday was established by the United Nations Department of Public Information in 2010 to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity, as well as to promote equal use of all six official languages throughout the Organization: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish (the so-called Language Days).

On the eve of International Chinese Language Day, interactive events were organized at the Confucius Institute of the university for the youngest attendees and students of Mogilev State Regional Lyceum No. 1, who are studying the Chinese language.

The events were prepared and conducted by a group of students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages, specializing in “Modern Foreign Language” (English, Chinese). The attendees learned about the history of Chinese characters, the peculiarities and uniqueness of the Chinese language, received information about its dialects, and explored cultural aspects of the language. At the final stage of the event, the young attendees took part in a quiz.
